- Birding
On account of the mud flats and mangrove swamps all along the peninsula, a large variety of birdlife can be seen and makes for excellent birding. The picture shows the rare Crab Plover (Dromas ardeola).
- Sightseeing trips
These include visits to Inhambane to experience the Afro - Portuguese - Arabic cultures and architecture. We spend time at the museum, historical buildings as well as the Mercado" (town market) for curios, fresh fruits, etc. We also visit quaint local restaurants and bistros to savour the local cuisine. There are drives along the country side to experience the Mozambican culture and topography. Lastly we also do a dhow (arabian sailboat) trip accross the bay to Maxixe or a neighbouring island.

Barra Reef, Inhambane, Mozambique

The Barra Reef at Inhambane, located some 480km north of Maputo (Capital of Mozambique), is the focus point of our service, which is not only very safe but also blessed with spectacular pristine beaches along the warm Indian Ocean. This area boasts a number of lodges to choose from, but is still totally unspoilt. There are also 14 incredible coral reefs for scuba and snorkelling enthusiasts. The area is set among beautiful palm forests and the local architecture is of colonial Portuguese origin dating back to the 15th century when Vasco da Gama discovered this area. The bay area is covered in beautiful, unique mangrove forests.
